My name is Rogelio (Roy) D. Herrera and I live in Alpine, Texas. Now retired, I can concentrate on performing as a solo guitar singer/song writer. I sing original songs and a blend of covers that include classic country, rock n’ roll, blues and Spanish tunes.
Growing up in Fort Stockton, Texas (El Comanche), my inspiration for music began with singing acapella gospel music and listening to classical Mexican Mariachi music, blues, rock n’ roll and country from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. As I play classic and acoustic 6-string guitars, my music is a natural raw sound to kick up your heels or for dancing belt-buckle polishing music.
If you wish to write a song for someone or for an event or cause, I am willing to assist you with the wording and can add guitar music to it. Also, if there is a current song/s that you wish to hear, I can try to accommodate.
I have no claim to fame but I have played in Alpine’s local venues for the past 2 years and in the Terlingua area, south Brewster County. I am willing to play in public and in private venues. As I mostly perform solo, there is always the possibility of performing as a duo or trio, etc.
I have music equipment for an independent setup on or off the grid. I am available for any day of the week, indoors or outdoors.
